The Events during Milan Design Week

The Events during Milan Design Week

Some of us might know (some don’t) that the biggest Design Week in the world has happened during the 2nd week of June 2022 in Milan. Fortunately, we’ve been there to witness all the active energy and love for Design that is expressed through a long list of events and meetings among brands and people with all forms of backgrounds.

This article today will sum up a brief Event overview of our wonderful Design city. Let’s dive in.

If there were a “Walk of Fame” for interior designers, Armani Casa’s name would undoubtedly be prominently displayed. I’m proud to be one of Giorgio Armani’s brilliant brainchildren, with his brother “Armani/Casa is founded on Mr. Armani’s quotes: “Elegant doesn’t mean being noticed, it means being remembered”.

Armani/Casa opted to organize the Armani/Silos Museum during Salone del Mobile. Right in the entryway of the public’s first look at the newest collection: eight themes, eight intriguing stories circling around natural elements, and traditional Asian culture with a nod to the world’s 1930s. Art, aesthetics, and thought from China and Japan are combined. Each topic is represented in great detail using an appealing 3D typeface.

Water symbolizes life and renewal, and its reflections in the room create a quiet and tranquil atmosphere. China from Art Déco style quartz on the reflected jade green background dressing table with materials mother-of-pearl, seashells, rare antique coin decorations.

A bamboo-covered display corner offers a pristine sense. The vertical image of bamboo, according to Armani/Casa, is reminiscent of the three-dimensional surface of canneté fabric, which has been a symbol of Armani fashion since its inception. The picture of bamboo is embroidered on the seat cushion, which served as inspiration for the chair’s and wardrobe’s contours. Visitors are captivated by the little 3D dragonflies that flutter around.
The theme of voyage can be seen in many of Armani/designs, Casa’s where the ideal balance between local customs and faraway civilizations, as well as the continual conversation between the past and the present, can be discovered. present. Traditional finishes – such as Canaletto walnut, Giorgio Armani’s favorite wood – are enriched by a combination of innovative modern materials, such as turpentine and methacrylate.
Vibrant greens are used to depict silk. Dance, winding, and making body contact are all examples of flexible motions. Silk is the ideal luxury cloth for fashion, homes, and décor because of its adaptability.
Giorgio Armani draws influence from Japanese culture on a regular basis. It’s depicted as a textured, heavily geometric abstraction here. The area is inspired by the new Kyoto structure, with red lacquer lines on real linen panels that discreetly recall traditional Japanese household architecture.

We enthusiastically went to the Missoni gallery at Solferino 9 on June 10 to see the exhibition “Welcome Back Desires,” which was a performance metaphoric to a great dream full of feelings, hopes, and dreams. wants and yearns to escape the confines of one’s self in an absurd world.

Visitors are transported into a another realm by the scenery, which envelops them like a magic box and provides a gentle, dreamy stage.
The fabric is highlighted by piled, stacked zigzag lines, amazing rainbow color combinations, and sunset splashes that take you into a lovely fantasy.

It has been said that 10 Corso Como is a store of ideas rather than just a shop, bar, or bookshop. Italy’s MILAN — Someone once described 10 Corso Como as a concept store rather than just a straightforward store, bar, or bookshop.

Located on the 2nd floor of Corso Como, we had the chance to visit 3 of our brands: Poltronova, Editions Milano and the newly-signed brand Pantone by Copaghen Design

Poltronova’s Safari sofa, designed in 1968 by Archizoom Associati. On both sides is a model of a Sanremo tree lamp designed by Archizoom Associati in 1968, an impressive green version.
A closer look at the Safari chair. Still keeping the original suede material, but this time, the Safari chair is launched with an impressive Pierre Frey® leopard print version.
We had the chance to meet Mrs. Roberta there, who brought us the definition of New Luxury
New collection: Circle from Editions Milano
Last but not least – hot items from Pantone by Copaghen Design so far. We signed the contract with the brand right before Milan Design Week.

Carla Tolomeo is an atypical artist in the contemporary art scene. After an early introduction to painting in Giorgio De Chirico’s studio, over the course of her long career she has signed collaborations with brands such as Hermès, Missoni and Blumarine.

Carla is the designer for Mirabili in Formitalia Luxury Group, she brought her latest creations together objects to the exhibition, which created a beautiful picture of imaginary birds fly, oversize roses bloom, giant butterflies, and other happy symbols dancing.

Now close your eyes, relax your mind, and slowly feel the breath of Mother Earth. Welcome to the world of Carla Tolomeo!

Carla Tolomeo must have put a lot of effort into this “great” photograph. It’s quite tough to create realistic birds out of cloth. On the chair backrest, every precious tiny detail counts: bird wings, color blending, and expressiveness. When their owners are fatigued, the birds will sing to them in a soothing tone, lulling them to sleep.
A deep blue color found exclusively in the deep sea, close to the ocean’s deepest and coldest depths. Turtles may be found on the backrests of both seats. Turtles as a family? Do they seek refuge in the deepest recesses of the earth? Perhaps their mother is returning to greet them as they return to the water; the stitching is delicate, winding like the sea waves stroking the turtles.

The place displayed a collective exhibition featuring projects both from Italy and around the world, which aimed to connect Design and Project Culture to the city’s social and architectural heritage.

We had our fantastic pieces from Ultrafragola mirror, Plasma armchair and the new version of Superonda displayed.
